Carmina Burana, a ballet evening in three parts, counts as one of Manuel Legris’ greatest successes as director of the Vienna State Ballet, with 52 performances to date.
This production thrills audiences and expert panels alike, having won the Austrian Music Theatre Prize for Best Ballet Production in 2013.
The combined participation of the Volksoper choirs proves particularly effective, bringing out the full power of Carl Orff’s medieval soundscape.
