Natalie Salazar

Natalie Salazar was born in Washington DC. The dancer with Bolivian roots has started her education at the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera under the direction of Michael Birkmayer and completed her studies at the Academie de Danse Classique in Monte Carlo and in Budapest. Since 2004 she has been a member of the Vienna State Ballet and has been working with many contemporary choreographers such as Renato Zanella, Giorgio Madia, Thierry Malandain and Davide Bombana. At the Vienna State Opera she was dancing amongst others in Rudolf Nureyev’s »Swan Lake« and »The Nutcracker«, Peter Wright’s »The Sleeping Beauty«, Lotte de Beer's & Andrey Kaydanovskiy's »Jolanthe and the Nutcracker«, Martin Schläpfers »Sinfonie Nr. 15« and »Ein Deutsches Requiem« as well as opera productions of Giuseppe Verdi's »Aida« and Richard Strauss' »Capriccio«. At the Volksoper Wien she took part in Thierry Malandain’s »Don Juan« and »Cendrillon«, Davide Bombana’s »Roméo et Juliette« as well as in several musicals, operettas and operas. Moreover, she was interpreting solo roles in Vesna Orlić’s »Carmina Burana«, »Scheherazade« and »Peter Pan«.
