Roman Chistyakov

Roman Chistyakov was born in Moscow and educated at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. After his graduation he became a member of the Vienna State Ballet in 2006. His most important roles at the Volksoper Wien comprise Young Man/Bridegroom in Vesna Orlićʼs »Carmina Burana«, title role in Thierry Malandainʼs »Don Juan«, Father in Malandainʼs »Cendrillon«, Mr. Smee in Vesna Orlić's »Peter Pan« and at the Vienna State Opera a solo part in the opera »Aida«. Moreover, he performed in Vesna Orlićʼs »Tausendundeine Nacht«, Ben van Cauwenberghʼs »Tanzhommage an Queen«, »Max und Moritz« by Ferenc Barbay & Michael Kropf, Gyula Harangozóʼs »The Nutcracker", Pierre Lacotteʼs »La Sylphide«, Maurice Béjartʼs »Le Concours«, Davide Bombanaʼs »Ballett: Carmen« and »Roméo et Juliette«, Lotte de Beer's & Andrey Kaydanovskiy's »Jolanthe and the Nutcracker« as well as in Martin Schläpfer's »Sinfonie Nr. 15« and »Ein Deutsches Requiem«.  Furthermore, he has been dancing in musicals, operettas and operas at the Volksoper Wien and operas at the Vienna State Opera. His awards comprise 2nd Prize at the International Dance Competition in Athens, Greece (2009) and in 2018 3rd Prize at the Vienna International Ballet Experience (VIBE), Austria.
