Felipe Vieira
Felipe Vieira was born in São Vicente – São Paulo (Brazil). He received his education in his home country at the Balé Jovem de São Vicente (2007-2009), amongst others. At the Youth America Grand Prix New York Finals he won, amongst other offer, a full Scholarship for the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera in 2009/10. From the 2010/11 season he was a member of the Theaterclass of the Vienna State Ballet. Since the 2011/12 season he is dancing with the Vienna State Ballet. His most important roles at the Volksoper Wien comprise Faun in Boris Nebylaʼs »L'Après-midi d'un faune«, Young Man and Bridegroom in Vesna Orlićʼs »Carmina Burana«, Aladin in Orlićʼs »Tausendundeine Nacht«, Solo in Orlićʼs »Out of Tango«, Tigerlily’s Brother in Orlićʼs »Peter Pan«, title roles in Andrey Kaydanovskiyʼs »The ugly Duckling« and Thierry Malandainʼs »Don Juan«, Prince in Malandainʼs »Cendrillon«, Prince Nutcracker in Lotte de Beer's & Andrey Kaydanovskiy's »Jolanthe and the Nutcracker« and parts in Maurice Béjartʼs »Le Concours«, András Lukácsʼ »Bolero«, Davide Bombanaʼs »Ballett: Carmen«, »Roméo et Juliette« (Benvolio) and Karole Armitageʼs »Ligeti Essays«. Furthermore, he danced in Martin Schläpfer's world premieres of »4« and »Sinfonie Nr. 15« as well as in »Ein Deutsches Requiem«. He also danced in several musicals, operettas and operas. At the Vienna State Opera, he performed in Rudolf Nureyevʼs »The Nutcracker«, Pierre Lacotteʼs »La Sylphide« and operas such as »Aida« und »Carmen«.
