Aleksandar Noshpal

Aleksandar Noshpal, born in Skopje (Macedonia), completed his fashion design studies, specialising in haute couture, at the ESMOD Academy in Paris, where he was awarded the Grand Prix by a jury whose members included Paco Rabanne and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. He gained his first professional experience with designers and fashion houses such as Grès and Frédéric Molénac. As a Chevening scholar, he completed his Master’s degree in Fashion Management and Marketing at the University of the Creative Arts in Epsom. Since then, Aleksandar Noshpal has worked as a freelance fashion and costume designer at numerous theatres, including Macedonian National Opera & Ballet, Macedonian National Theatre as well as the theatres in Zagreb, Rijeka and Split, Leipzig Opera, St. Gallen Theatre, Ballett am Rhein Düsseldorf Duisburg, Bolshoi Ballet Moscow, BallettCompagnie Oldenburg or the École de Danse de l’Opéra de Paris. He has worked on more than fifty productions with choreographers such as Milko Šparemblek, Ronald Savkovic, Hugo Viera, Igor Kirov, Mario Schröder, Stephan Delattre, Douglas Lee, Jean-Philippe Dury or Martin Chaix, among others. As a professor of fashion and costume design, Aleksandar Noshpal teaches at the FON University in Skopje and the University of Donja Gorica in Podgorica (Montenegro). In 2011, he designed new uniforms for the National Guard of the Macedonian Army. He has received numerous national and international awards.
