Igor Milos

Igor Milos was born in Zrenjanin (Serbia). He received his education at the Belgrade National Ballet School »Lujo Davičo« and the Academy of Dance of the state funded Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts. His first employment was in 1999 at the National Theater Belgrad, in 2001 he was dancing at the Theater Koblenz, afterwards at the Salzburg State Theater. Since 2002 he is a member of the Vienna State Ballet. His most important roles comprise Spanish Dancer in Rudolf Nureyev’s »Swan Lake«, Andreas II. in Nureyev’s »Raymonda«, Theseus in Jorma Elo’s »A Midsummer Night’s Dream«, Fürst Gremin in John Cranko's »Onegin«, Thomas in Frederick Ashton's »La Fille mal gardée«, the title role and Lorenzo in Rudolf Nureyevʼs »Don Quixote«, the Duke of Kurland in Elena Tchernichova’s »Giselle«, Mads Moen in Edwar Clug’s »Peer Gynt«, Colonel »Bay« Middleton in Kenneth MacMillan’s »Mayerling«, Magician in Maurice Béjart’s »Le Concours«, Carabosses's entourage in Martin Schläpfer's »The Sleeeping Beauty«, the mayor and Pas de bottes in Pierre Lacotte's »Coppélia« as well as, among others, parts in Jiří Kylián’s »Petite Mort«, Jorma Elo’s »Glow – Stop«, Jerome Robbins’ »In the Night«, Edward Liang’s »Murmuration«, András Lukács’ »Movements to Stravinsky«, Renato Zanella’s »Empty Place«, Hans van Manen's »Four Schumann Pieces«, Paul Taylor's »Promethean Fire« and works by Martin Schläpfer such as »Marsch, Walzer, Polka«. Furthermore, he took part in New Year’s Concerts of the Vienna Philharmonic in 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010. His awards comprise 1st prize at the Serbian competition for classical ballet (1998) and scholarships of the National Theater Belgrad (1997/98) and the Birgit Keil Foundation, Mannheim (2000).
