Our new Pausengong

You will hear a new Pausengong in the Volksoper these days.
But actually, it is not so new at all.
You will recognize a quote from Die Fledermaus:

Glücklich ist, wer vergisst (was doch nicht zu ändern ist),

played on Zither and steeldrum.
And you will hear an old fashioned ringing bell.
It is not the same, but very much like the bell that has rung in the Volksoper until 2007.

We cannot compose a future without listening to the past.
