Alaia Rogers-Maman
Alaia Rogers-Maman was born in Los Angeles and trained at The Art of Classical Ballet under Magaly Suárez. She continued her education at the Royal Ballet Upper School in London. At the 2011 Youth America Grand Prix she won the silver medal and in 2012 she was a finalist at the Prix de Lausanne. From 2014 to 2020 she was engaged at the Vienna State Ballet. After a season with the Royal Swedish Ballet she returned to the Vienna State Ballet in 2021/22. For the 2024/25 season she was promoted to demi-soloist.
Her Viennese repertoire includes, among others, the Lilac Fairy and Fee Canari qui chante in Martin Schläpfer’s »The Sleeping Beauty«, Prudence Duvernoy in John Neumeierʼs »Lady of the Camellias«, the pastoral in Rudolf Nureyev’s »The Nutcracker«, a Spanish dancer and noblemaid in Nureyev’s »Swan Lake«, Aurora, the dawn and Swanildaʼs friend in Pierre Lacotteʼs »Coppélia«, Giselleʼs friend in Elena Tchernichovaʼs »Giselle« and Liseʼs friend in Frederick Ashtonʼs »La Fille mal gardée«. Furthermore, she danced in Jiří Kyliánʼs »Symphony of Psalms«, Hans van Manenʼs »Four Schumann Pieces« and in works by George Balanchine, Edward Clug, John Cranko, William Forsythe, Manuel Legris, Kenneth MacMillan, John Neumeier, Marius Petipa, Daniel Proietto, Jerome Robbins and Heinz Spoerli.
