Václav Lamparter
Czech-born Václav Lamparter initially trained at the Brno Dance Conservatory. From 2013 to 2014, he studied at the American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School and was also a member of the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company. He gained additional experience in summer courses and masterclasses in London, Dresden, Prague, Dortmund, Toronto, Ostrava and Brno.
He has taken part in numerous ballet competitions and received several awards, including the 1st prize at the Vancliffen International Ballet Competition for Young Talents (2011), the 2nd prize at the Grand Prix Dance Olomouc (2011), the 1st prize at the International Ballet Competition in Istanbul (2012) and 3rd prizes at international ballet competitions in Prague (2012) and Beijing (2013).
In 2014 he joined the Semperoper Ballett Dresden where he was appointed coryphée in 2017, demi soloist in 2019 and soloist in 2022. His Dresden repertoire includes solo roles in works by Aaron S. Watkin, among others Prince Désiré and Bluebird in Sleeping Beauty, Cavalier of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Nutcracker Prince in The Nutcracker, Benno in Swan Lake and Golden Idol in La Bayadère. He has danced Des Grieux in Kenneth MacMillanʼs Manon, Oberon in Frederick Ashtonʼs The Dream and in works by George Balanchine, Pina Bausch, Stijn Celis, David Dawson, Nacho Duato, Alexander Ekman, William Forsythe, Johan Inger, Jiří Kylián, Justin Peck and Alexei Ratmansky. He has performed as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania with the JK Tyl Theatre Ballet in Pilsen, as the Prince in Nutcracker with the Maple Youth Ballet in Irvine (CA/USA), at the Ballet of the National Theatre Brno and at the International ÖTR Ballet Days 2013 in Vienna.
Václav Lamparter will join the Vienna State Ballet as a demi-soloist in the 2024/25 season.
