Barrier-free
We would like to make your visit as pleasant and easy as possible. Here you will find all the information you need for a barrier-free visit.
Access
Wheelchair users can reach the box office foyer and the auditorium via a separate entrance with bell and ramp, located to the left of the main entrance.
The disabled toilet is located in the stalls area, to the right of the cloakrooms.
Registered guide dogs are permitted in the theatre and in the auditorium.
There is a disabled persons’ car park in Lustkandlgasse just in front of the main entrance to Volksoper Wien (entrance via Fuchsthallergasse).
Wheelchair seats
The Volksoper has two designated wheelchair spaces, each with an accompanying seat that can only be purchased together with the corresponding wheelchair space. These seats are located to the right and left of row 19 in the stalls.
If you contact us at least 10 days before the performance, we can provide up to 12 additional wheelchair spaces without an accompanying seat per performance.
These wheelchair spaces are available for € 4,-, no further reductions are possible.
One wheelchair seat and one wheelchair companion seat in the 10th row on the left are also available on a case-by-case basis. These have the prices of category II.
Wheelchair seats can be purchased at the ticket offices and online or pre-ordered by e-mail to tickets@volksoper.at. To be activated to purchase wheelchair seats on the Internet, please contact our information desk on +43/1/514 44-3670 (Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:00).
For technical reasons, it is currently not possible to purchase wheelchair spaces by telephone using a credit card. We ask for your understanding!
Because of regulatory restrictions, wheelchair users can only occupy the (special wheelchair) seats provided in the stalls. Wheelchairs cannot be moved to other seats. It is also unfortunately not possible for wheelchair users to attend introductory talks or performances in the Foyer. We apologise for any inconvenience.
