In January 2025, the music of the composer Viktor Ullmann, who was born in Teschen (Austria-Hungary) in 1889 and murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1944, will take centre stage thanks to the grand premiere of KaiserRequiem. With this foyer concert, we are extending the spotlight for this exceptional artist, whose music unites the seemingly incompatible in a unique balancing act: hopelessness and hope, the urge for freedom and imprisonment, humour and the abysmal.
