"Cherchez la femme!": Even before the premiere of the Threepenny Opera at the end of November, four great Weill interpreters from the Volksoper ensemble will dedicate themselves to this motto and follow in the footsteps of Lotte Lenya, Zarah Leander and Fritzi Massary. The first musical glimpses of the Threepenny Opera are mixed with highlights from the composer's Broadway musicals and a musical anthology of chansons by Kurt Weill and his contemporaries. Concentrated female power brings the self-confident, crackling atmosphere of the 1920s and 30s into the foyer of the Volksoper, and even before the premiere the passionate chant is: "Come out, you beauty of Soho!
