"The Devil on Earth", which emerged between Franz von Suppé’s big hits "Fatinitza" and "Boccaccio", was first performed at the Vienna Carltheater in 1878.
The Devil has vanished from hell! The servant of hell Ruprecht is ordered to go and look for him on Earth where he is joined by angel Rupert, a mismatched companion.
