Daniel Vizcayo

Daniel Vizcayo received his education at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza in his hometown Madrid. In 2005 he danced as a demi soloist in the production »Snow White« with Tamara Rojo, in 2007 he was a finalist at the Prix de Lausanne and in the same year, he started his dancing career in Jean-Albert Quartier’s ensemble Europa Danse, where he performed in ballets such as Léonide Massine’s »Parade«, Ana Maria Stekelman’s »Pulcinella« and Thierry Malandain’s »Mercure«. Since 2008 as a principal dancer with Malandain Ballet Biarritz he danced in numerous choreographies by the director, including the Prince in »Cendrillon«, the title role of »Lucifer« and roles in »Carmen«, »Boléro« and »La Bella y la Bestia«. In 2017/18 Daniel Vizcayo became a member of Martin Schläpfer’s Ballett am Rhein Düsseldorf Duisburg, where he soon distinguished himself in works by George Balanchine, Robert Binet, William Forsythe, Hans van Manen or Trisha Brown as an outstanding dancer as well as in several roles created for him by Martin Schläpfer. Since the 2020/21 season Daniel Vizcayo has been a soloist with the Vienna State Ballet. His Viennese repertoire comprises Faun in the world premiere of Martin Schläpfer's »The Sleeping Beauty«, Alain in Frederick Ashton’s »La Fille mal gardée«, Gamache in Rudolf Nureyevʼs »Don Quixote«, Jiří Kylián's »Symphony of Psalms«, A shy young man in Jerome Robbins' »The Concert«, George Balanchine's »Emeralds« in »Jewels« and »Symphony in Three Movements«, Marco Goecke's world premiere »Fly Paper Bird«, Lucinda Child's »Concerto«, Neapolitan dance (soloist) in Rudolf Nureyev's »Swan Lake«, Merce Cunningham's »Duets«, Mark Morris' »Beaux« and works by Martin Schläpfer such as »Neue Pizzicato-Polka« in »Marsch, Walzer, Polka« and »The Seasons«.
